Meet the Team

  • Dr. Valerie Yucius

    FOUNDER

Valerie Yucius grew up among dogs and wildlife in rural Orlando. She became interested in animal health when her own pets became ill. So, she studied hard at the University of Florida and University of Tennessee-Knoxville to become a doctor at 25 years old!

Dr. Yucius has been serving the central Florida ever since. Her back ground includes co-owning a practice in Clermont and starting the spay/neuter program at Osceola County Animal Services. Her experience with being a relief vet to many different hospitals has allowed her to create the facility we now call Affordable Vet Care.

  • John Gatti

    PRACTICE MANAGER

John oversees our Administration Department. From HR to paying bills, from inventory management to vendor outreach, he can handle it all.

  • Gabby S.

    VET TECH

Gabby's passion for helping animals started off as early as 5 years old; after graduating Penn Foster Veterinary Assistant program, she dove into shelter medicine for 5 years before becoming a tech at Affordable Vet Care. With her fascination for exotic breeds, Gabby is a proud owner of both a Sphynx and a Oriental shorthair, Nigel and Norman. When she's not at work, she enjoys volunteering at local animal shelters and spending time with her fiance and two sons.

  • Ashley N.

    VET TECH

With a strong work ethic and a love for problem solving, Ashley jumped into the veterinary industry 2 years ago after completing her AA at Eastern Florida State College. Possibly classified as a crazy dog mom, she absolutely adores her 3 year old Labrador mix, Bubba. Striving to provide the best care possible for her boy, Ashley has enthusiastically gained knowledge throughout her time here at Affordable Vet Care. When she is not in the clinic, Ashley enjoys working out at the gym with her boyfriend, caring for her many houseplants, and relaxing at the beach with Bubba.

  • Mariah T.

    CERTIFIED VET TECH

Mariah went to Eastern Florida State College to obtain her CVT certification in 2020. She has always had a love for animals and learning new things. Becoming a CVT allows her to have an array of knowledge and continue learning while caring for our furry friends. She has been in the veterinary field since 2018 and likes to assist in surgery and provide excellent fear-free restraint to pets using snacks and treats! When Mariah is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son as well as crocheting.

  • Liz R.

    CLIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Liz has worked with animals off and on for the last 17 years; but her love for animals started when she was very young. She absolutely adores her completely opposite Great Dane and Fluffy French Bulldog!

She enjoys crafting, cooking, sewing and making memories by going on trips with her husband and 3 children.

  • Rachael S.

    VET TECH

Rachael has been in the Veterinary field for 6 years. She has 2 chihuahua mixes named Chica and Diego. In Rachael's free time she likes to shop, relax by the pool, and spend time with friends and family. Rachael's favorite part of Vet med is providing client education to better her patients' lives.
